First Weigh In

Not as much as I wanted, but I didnt walk every night and made a couple of errors.

But my weight loss for week one is -5.6

Yahoooooo.

I got some questioned answered and I am going to work harder this week.

Bring on Week 2!

Oops...scuse my lack of blogging.

Sorry peeps. Been a couple of crazy days.

I had an Epicure party Tuesday and Wednesday night. Plus taking care of the 3 amigos during the day and trying to eat all my food. LOL. I feel like I am eating non stop. This is something completely foreign to me. Usually there is no rhyme or reason to when I eat. When I think about it, I eat. 6:00 dinner is about the only constant in my life when it comes to food.

My parties went well. Business wise and diet wise. I was certainly tempted, especially with that Extraordinary cheese dip staring me in the face 2 nights in a row. But I held strong and did not eat anything. I brought my Jenny snacks and water with me and stayed true to the cause.

I am feeling really nervous today about my weigh in tonight. I haven't gone off my menu or partook of any FREEBIES I was allowed to have. I have done really well with my water, drinking over 80oz a day. I have missed some of my snacks though, and I think I am supposed to eat everything on my menu. I have a list of questions for my consultant tonight. So yeah, I am worried.

I have to say I am soo grateful for all of you who are reading this blog and have left comments or emailed or phoned me. I have the best friends in the world. You are all soo supportive and encouraging. You cheer me on every day and for this I THANK YOU!!!! I don't know if I would be as strong without you.

Well gotta run. The 3 amigos are going at each other. I think the 2 year old is winning.

Good luck to me!

I have an Epicure Party tonight and will be able to test my strength.

I snack a lot as I prepare my dips and such for the party.
I also snack after the party as I am writing up the hostesses order.
But I am excited b/c the hostess already had a $750 party last week and the party we do tonight will add to this. So that will put me back on track for my sales this month.

I just need to remember to eat my Jenny meal before I leave for the party. And take my snack and water with me. I should be ok. '

It does mean that I will miss my walk tonight though. I am going to try my best to get everything done this morning (even though it is already 10:51 - we slept till 10am) and take the boys for a walk this afternoon.

Should be a good day!

Oh yeah and it's my mommy's birthday so.....Happy Birthday Mommy!

Hurdles Already

*sighs* Well it's time to test my commitment. Friday night I starting walking. I walked with my neighbour for an hour and half. It was a great walk. We went all over Beaumont. Up hills. Down Hills. Through the park. Around the lake. And back home. I've decided Yukon (my 2.5 yr old Husky) will be my walking mate. I've never walked Yukon consistently, so he is not leash trained. He pulls and tugs, goes way to fast and generally is a work out himself. This should be interesting. But it was fun.

Saturday I didn't walk...for some reason I cannot seem to remember. I think it was a lightening storm.

Last night it was pouring rain and lightening too. But my bigger obstacle is my foot. Yesterday morning I woke up with my left heel in excruciating pain! It wouldn't subside. I could not for the life of me figure out what the problem was. I soaked it in my foot bath with some Epsom salt. I massaged it. I elevated it. I took Advil. Nothing worked. The storm ended around 8pm and I decided I needed to suck it up and walk. At least try and if I had to turn back, so be it.

I did pretty good. I pretty much walked the course from Friday night. I left out the lake though. Which probably would have been an added hour. So I only walked a mile last night. But most of it was limping. I foot was hurting quite a bit. Not as much as it had all day, but still enough to cut the walk short.

At first I thought maybe with walking the Friday night, and then walking around on the hardwood floors without slippers had attributed to the foot problem. But then waking up this more with both feet slightly hurting and itching, it hit me.

As much as I have been fighting it, as much as I refused to believe it would happen to me, the inevitable has happened. I think I have arthritis in my feet.

My feet have been feeling weird in the mornings for quite some time now. Some days I am fine, and some days I am not. I never really put much thought to it. But as some of you know, arthritis runs in my family. My grandmother (my world) was diagnosed with it when she was a teenager, and it ate at her body until it final shut it down 3 years ago. My mother was diagnosed as well a few years back. I have always said that I would not let it get me. I felt pretty strong that it wouldn't...until today.

It's a good thing that I have vowed to get rid of this extra weight on me. I know that weight can affect arthritis. The next step is to see a doctor and get a diagnosis (whatever it may be). This scares me to death! The pictures of my grandmothers arthritic ridden body laid up in her bed or barely walking down the hall, haunt me. It is NO way to live! I refuse to be a burden to my husband and children. Having them take care of my every need until I wither away and die. It just can't happen!

Today is not a good day! Today is going to be a very hard day! I need to be strong today.

MY REWARDS!!!!

Sorry I am blogging up a storm right now. But that is because I have a lot on my mind, I awsn't here yesterday, and I have a lot to do this afternoon.

I have decided on a few rewards.

1) When I lose 20lbs, I can get my nails done.
2) When I reach my half way point, which is 50 lbs, I can purchse the new Iphone
3 If I am on track to reach my target weight (160lbs by March 1st, 2009) I can splurge and buy a new wardrobe when I go to Vegas on January 25th.

Some pretty sweet rewards I have set for myself.
I need to think about what my end reward will be.
Hey E, how bout you and me meet half way at a Spa for a weekend? Nice break for both of us. LOL

I welcome any other ideas and suggestions.

Day 3

My family is on board!

This morning when I got up and walked to the breakfast table my 9 year old says..

"Mom, you look skinnier already"

I almost cried. I love my family. I need to lose weight so that I am here to watch them grow, get married and have families of their own.

Today is a day to remember.

Day 1

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

I finally bit the bullet, asked for help and joined Jenny Craig.

When I went in for my consultation Wednesday night, I was pleasantly surprised with their program and food menu.

I LOVE my food. This is why any diet I have ever tried, has not worked. I love the taste of food. I love to eat. I am not an emotional eater. I don't binge eat..okay maybe occasionally when I find something I really love. But I love food. I know I have too big of portion sizes. I know I eat unhealthy food, far too often and without exercising to compensate. I know I am doing the wrong things. But up until Wednesday I didn't care.
I never viewed myself as FAT. I was sort of happy with the way I looked. But I obviously didn't care enough or else I would have stuck to a program, right? However, Wednesday morning I stepped on the scale and hit rock bottom! I was weighing myself just to see what my BMI would be. I was shocked to see 260 lbs stare me back in the face! I lost it! I cried like a baby!

What to hell happened? What happened to the tall skinny girl that all the guys wanted? The girl who shone when she played basketball and soccer and volleyball. The girl who loved to swim in the summers and skate in the winters? Where did this lazy bag of shit come from? Enough was enough. No more excuses. No more lying to myself. No more covering the fat. No more false confidence. Now was the time to get real!
I knew I couldn't do it on my own. I hadn't done anything up to this point. Some obviously I needed to pay someone to help me. I needed a plan that was all laid out for me and all I had to do was follow it. I called Jenny and here I am.

The price wasn't as much as I thought. There is currently a 50% off special until the end of July. Another sign to me that now was the time to do it.

I met with Ashley and she was the sweetest thing. She held my hand while I cried. She reassured me that they were there to help me and I could do it! For the first time, I felt like I really could.

We chose my plan, I went for the life time membership, and chose the menu.

My one-on-one consultations are every Thursday and today (Friday) I started my menu.

The breakfast was good. The cereal left a bit of an after taste, but not horrible.

I am feeling a little light headed right now, but I think that is b/c of the lack of coffee.

I am working on my 1st bottle of water. This will be one weakness - I am not used to drinking soo much water. But I will soldier on.

I am off to make my lunch of Turkey burger and salad. I think I will throw some Epicure Bruschetta on the burger to spice it up. Thanks for the tip Tracey! Tomatoes and spices are a "free food" so I am going to use the Epicure products along with my Jenny foods and really enjoy my smaller portions. Plus they bulk up the portions and don't add any extra calories. I am learning. One day at a time, right?

I am off for now. But will try and keep this blog regular. If not for you the reader, for my own piece of mine.
